Some 21 years later the policy of keeping standards high and prices low is still very much the order of the day. Specialising in fresh homemade food, the best sellers include steak and mushroom pie, beer battered fish and chips, not to mention the wonderful puddings including steamed syrup sponge or bread and butter pudding.
